GEOSPATIAL APPLICATIONS FOR DETERMINATION OF PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENTAL ATTRIBUTES OF CEMENT INDUSTRIES IN SALT RANGE AREA

The cement industry plays a fundamental role in the economic growth of country for both developed and under countries. However, it is posing great threat to environment. This study aimed investigate key environmental risks associated with industry. assessment was conducted eight industries situated Salt Range area, Pakistan. Ambient air monitoring carried out according USEPA prescribed merthods. Stack emissions were tested 24 hours annual averages TSP, COx, NOx, SOx estimated. noise also monitored across area. results showed that airpollution mainly caused by PM2.5, PM10, & TSP. exceeded Punjab Environmental Quality Standards (PEQS) CO Cl2. Noise pollution day night at 12 20locations respectively. above-mentioned low quality due may intensify acute human diseases
